It's really really hard for me to write about something I dislike, I normally don't write it but It was such a good day I still want to share it. I do not regret it all. And obviously we all have different taste buds and I grew to be a very picky eater, so this is just my opinion.
I've heard many great things about The Mission and I was extremely excited to eat there. Okay let me just get straight to it. The Mission is definitely loved by many and there's been a lot of hype around it. The service is great, the pancake was fluffy and cooked perfectly. The apple slices that came with the pancakes tasted like old/overripe fruit. My olive on my Bloody Mary tasted like rubber, I'm not sure if they had flavorless olives out there but if they do, my bad, they probably meant to do that. My Rancheros Verde was cool. It was a very generous portion but for $3 more you can add steak. You might want two orders of steak though, so you can have plenty of steak to go with it. I think I didn't like the fresh flour tortillas with eggs over medium sitting on top of black beans. First bite was flavorful and then it got bland, I got bored. I'm just used to having my beans on the side. So after all this, It did't live up to the hype. I think the hype may have killed the vibe because it probably caused me to have high expectations. This could also be a case of ordering the wrong thing because I'm sure the breakfast is very good. And I do have this thing where I would go to different Mexican joint for certain dishes. I would go to different taco shops for a burrito, and I got another taco shop I'd go to for Chilaquiles, Carne Fries/burrito and so on. Will I go back? Of course, I should try again to find that one dish I love so much that I can return to. I feel like I should've ordered something from The Mission Favorites.
Despite of the title, it was a very good day and mission was accomplished. Got to check out The Mission finally, thankfully we didn't have to wait in line since it was a Friday morning. Shout out to my job for allowing me to take days off to recover from a long night after the art show I was in. After brunch we headed out to Sea World for entertainment and to burn off some calories. I love going to Sea World, mainly because of the child hood memories tied to it. I don't remember it being this small though, I guess everything is huge when you're a kid. Shout out to Tavi for the tickets.
