If you're wondering what Nine Front, Nine Back means, I'm referring to the serial numbers on a dollar bill. Lao people believe when you find a one dollar bill with the serial number starting with a nine and ending with a nine it is considered good luck. I found one in my pocket after buying her a vegetarian pizza for the super bowl and I decided to see how lucky can I be with this lucky dollar. I've searching for this dollar since I was a kid, I was told when you find one you hold on to it till you get lucky, then you spend it. I found the lucky dollar many times but never paid attention if I got lucky or not. I don't believe in luck but I've been playing along since I was knee high. So! Today, I put that lucky dollar to the test. I got off work at 3 PM in La Jolla (yes I work), drove home to switch into my "race car" and drove down to Chula Vista. Traffic was okay, but it still took 40 mins to get there. After picking up Lupita we rushed to Little Italy to make it to Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) before it closed. We got there around 4:40 PM now we must find street parking. We found a front roll parking but it was questionable, wasn't sure if we can park there, so we moved on. After circling one block we found one on the corner, then found out that questionable spot was good but oh well. We walked in MCASD and they told us "just come in, we close in 15 minutes." What? We didn't have to pay? Yo that dollar really worked haha. I donated that lucky dollar and a few more dollars to MCASD before we left.
After a successful visit of MCASD I went to Nelson Photo to drop off some film. Grabbed dinner at Soda & Swine since we were in the neighborhood. I wanted to get some tea from Moniker but we were too late, they were closed.
