You are never alone. I know sometimes you feel like you are but they are many people out there going through the same thing you are. That is not to dismiss your feelings like it's not special enough or we shouldn't care as much, nah, I'm saying reach out for answers. Reach out for help, reach out for company. Don't hide it, don't keep them in, we can get through it together.
Shout out to Jasmine for taking the time to be a part of my Sadness Is A Blessing photo series. I guess it's a Depression awareness photo series? She is open about her depression and I admire her for that because I know most people don't want anyone to know about it. I wish I can tell you everybody's story but I can't, I'll have to let them tell it if ya'll should ever cross path. I just have this urge to capture images, different faces, different style, different lives, but we all have been sad/depressed before or currently dealing with depression. I just want to capture you and show the beauty of ya'll through my lens. I used roses in this series because I've read that the scent of roses helps with depression. As I'm writing this post I'm thinking to myself, "am I even doing anything to help?" I honestly feel like I'm not doing much but I'd love to help.
Ps. DM, email, text me, if ya'll would like to take part of this photo series.
After shooting Jasmine in front of the greyish blue wall in La Jolla I took her out to one of my favorite restaurant, Streetcar Merchants of Fried Chicken. Then I stopped by Jose's to see B-Mac and drink a Michelada, and a farewell shot. Homeboy never let me leave without taking a shot with him. Spread Love.
