Dook and I have been cruising up to Encinitas every third Thursday for their Classic Car Nights during the summer. Summer is almost over and they held their last Classic Car Night last night. We like to mix car meets with good dinner, it's what we like to do. We like to think we're working our way down the block trying out each restaurants, we had a handful of new experiences on the PCH. But there's a fairly new spot in Encinitas called The Fish Shop that we haven't tried. Their menu reminded of Blue Waters in Mission Hills so wanted to compare.
Took us about an hour to get to Encinitas from La Jolla, we ordered our food and sat down at the window seat with the street view to watch classic cars drive by. Next to us was a stranger, an older lady all by herself. I can be anti social at times but you may have seen my outgoing side more than often. Though she looked like a very nice person, I didn't know what she thought of me. I didn't know if she would judge me for how I looked and give me the cold shoulders. But enough of wondering, I decided to talk to her. She was very sweet, it was refreshing to talk to her because I wish I can have this conversation with my grandma. We talked about the food there, and I learned shes from LA visiting her son, I didn't want to get too personal so we just talked about the food again and the cars that were driving on the PCH. This was one of the few moments I've had with strangers at a dinner table, and so far its been great, I'd love to share tables with strangers in the future!
The Fish Shop! It was good, but not Blue Waters. I still love Blue Waters much better. The Fish Shop's fishes were fresh and clean, service was great, I would definitely come back to this place and try other items on the menu. And I know you guys might want to know what I like better with Blue Waters. Well their cooking style is different, same type of seasoning but Blue Waters seasoning taste much better. And different bread choices.
