New video directed by Cobian! I’m a huge fan of Cobian’s work. He did a lot of Eddie Zuko’s video. Cobian is so creative with the way he shoot and put the videos together.
I can’t title this post “Click Click” cuz that’s for film photos only. These photos were taken with my iPhone at MNGO Cafe on Convoy. We went there for dessert after a nice dinner at Min Sok Chon.
I was chillin at Arts-Rec during Rossi’s sound check and Chata came through. She had a point and shoot camera in her hand and I grabbed it from her and snapped this photo.
The purpose of this trip was the drive on the PCH to Monterey Bay. The rest was just some what boring stuff and Family stuff that I did not take photos of. So they will not be in the blog, not even the dogs/puppy we played it, they were so cute too!! If you were following my IG story you would’ve seen what I’m talking about. By the way, the videos of the trip are still on my IG highlight titled “s2ktrip" so hit that up if you wanna see.
We had a little Thanksgiving feast and just watched Christmas movies on Netflix. Woke up Friday morning my brother and I went to San Francisco for some exploring and shopping. It was raining all day! Wind picked up and broke my damn umbrella and for some reason I wasn’t wearing my water resistant jacket. First stop in SF is always Brenda’s. We always hit up Brenda’s when we’re in town, it’s that good. It must’ve been our day because there was no wait and we had front row parking.
We walked around Union Square in the rain and looked around the shops. At this point it was getting repetitive. We’ve done this many times before and I was getting bored. There weren’t much to do that day anyways. I had friends I could’ve hit up and catch up with, but I didn’t wanna stay in SF much longer. We spent 8 hours in SF anyways. I bought some new shoes cuz the one I was wearing was wet and very old, left it in SF for who ever need it. After long walks in the rain we ended the evening with a fancy dinner at House Of Prime Ribs. Never been, always heard about it. I didn’t know there was only one and its in SF. We got lucky again! We couldn’t make reservation because it was all booked. We were told we can go early and sit at the bar and you can order food from there. So we did just that, normally there would be a list for the bar as well but we got the last two available seats, took our orders, and had a couple of drinks. We got our food before they even open (5:30 PM). LUCKY!!
We had a snack in the meantime then we had dinner at House Of Prime Ribs. We weren’t too hungry so we ordered the biggest cut for $50 and shared plates. It’s a $10 extra for shared plates so you can the additional sides, which was cool.
We had this cake for Thanksgiving from Peter’s, it was an Almond cake I think. It was soo good I had to bring one home, especially for my dad. We could’ve stayed another day but I got pretty bored. So we left Saturday morning, stopped by Peters on our way out.
Woke up Thursday morning in Monterey Bay, to be exact, in Pacific Grove. Thanksgiving morning, I couldn’t sleep, I can never sleep well when I’m not sleeping in my own bed. I travel often but I still get home sick. I picked up a new habit by the way, and that's waking up early. We went out for a run Thursday morning, the rain had stopped and the sun was out. It was a beautiful morning in Monterey Bay, the air smelled lovely too.
We ran about 2.5 miles in a loop back to our hotel. Showered and went for a short cruise on the coast before getting breakfast/lunch.
We went back to Cannery Row and searched for a place to eat. We didn’t have any plans exactly on where or what to eat, we just wanted to check it out and see whats good out there. We decided to eat at a place called Louie Linguini’s. It was super super good ya’ll. We’ve been lucky, all the random stops we made to eat were all very tasty.
I’ve been wanting to do this drive for such a long time ya’ll. I’ve always wanted to take my Honda s2000 on the PCH to Monterey Bay. All those times I thought about making this trip life happens. Or the car breaks down for long period of time. The car loves to break down every time I mention about a road trip, and it did break time again this year. I had to install a new clutch, new valve cover gasket, new rubber nipple to keep it from leaking coolant, new coolant lines, new spark plugs, andddd, hmm, what else? Well I need new wheel bearings but I took it on this trip without fixing it and it was annoying as fuck, and not to mention, very dangerous. I relied on my luck on that one.
With a lot of drama surrounding the family, I didn’t care too much about Thanksgiving so my brother and I decided to take a road trip during the holiday. With a lot on my mind as well I could definitely use this drive. For some of us car guys a long drive on a scenic route is very therapeutic and can really help balance your mind and heart, and it did. I feel refreshed and ready to tackle any new obstacles.
Damnnn JLo, this is a banger!
Every damn Wednesday, Sammi Jefcoate.
AH! I can’t believe I haven’t tried this till yesterday!! I tried Tostilocos not too long ago and here I am, San Diego native, a local to these neighborhood but never had this fucking Fruitilocos. Shame on me!! It was sooo good! Be Fresh located on Logan Ave and 47th Street. It was delicious and so refreshing, thanks for my home girl Marla for putting me on game.
First weekend with no photoshoots, I get to relax and do absolutely nothing. I stayed up pretty late for a friend's birthday party at El Camino last night. Had to wake up super early though, but it's all good, it was all worth it.
Started off with coffee at Young Hickory in Downtown and then lunch at Lola 55. They are fairly new, located at the IDEA1 building, heard great things so I had to try it. Ordered four tacos, Ribeye Carne Asada, Rainbow Cauliflower, Baby Carrots Adobada, and Smoked Carnitas. My immediate favorite was the Ribeye Carne Asada. Super juicy, flavorful, and if ya'll sensitive to spice, these tacos are nicely heated. I highly recommend this joint, perfect place for a date or just to eat. Thank me later.
I’m currently sitting inside a coffee shop in downtown to kill sometime and decided to do a Click Click post. Mine as well start with Lupita. Side note, that has nothing to do with this post, maybe it does maybe it doesn’t but its great living a life with no anger in my heart. I feel free from emotions controlling me. Bless.
Some of these photos were released at my latest photo show and some were shot for La Familia Clothing company.
One year later I’m finally going to have this photo show of the pictures I took out in Thailand and Japan. Featuring images of the Japanese Low rider culture in Osaka. I promise this will happen somewhere between Jan-Feb 2019 at 5&A Dime.
Huge thank you to 9Five for having me as the featured artist at their store Saturday for the North Park Art Night. Shout out to Tiffany for locking that down for me. Shooting for this show was alot of fun. I enjoyed working with all the models and for some reason, shooting all these colors makes me super happy.
Thank you for coming to the show! It was really nice to meet new faces and see familiar faces that have been supporting all these years. Next show will be Thailand/Japan photo show and then Food Porn. Unless I have something that pops up in between. Thanks again for coming.
In case you didn’t know, the photos from the Color show is now up on the site. And these are the photos I picked to display. I realized I’m missing one photo of Alejandra. I’ll update this blog post once I get a hold of that photo of her.
All photos were shot with my Canon AE1 with a 50mm Lens.
Just a little preview from the Color Show photo shoots with Alejandra. I will have the rest of the collection in a new online gallery the day after The Color Show Oct 27th. It’s at 9Five North Park, come through!
This artist started following me on IG and he just dropped this track and I love it.
I remember growing up I’ve always wanted to be on the news or magazines and radio station for for the things we do. Either photography, community service, music, art, etc. It was always a dream growing up and I’m sure most of ya’ll can relate. I accomplished some of those dreams, and I’m proud to share these images of Rossi Rock at the radio station for an interview! People always talk about how local station in SD don’t support local artist. Maybe they do, it just takes alot of hard work to be recognized. Beto Perez and Tha Kid Reckless was kind enough to take the Suav crew in the station and kicked down some valuable knowledge. Rossi has been making alot of noise on social media thanks to all his fans. Beside that Rossi and Beto Perez knew each other, the support from Rossi’s fan got the station’s attention.
A little over a week ago my car broke down leaving Mt. Julian and cost me a pretty penny to get it towed and fixed. Special thanks for Mike Kevin for taking care of the car for me and my brother and Rhandy for the assist on the car. I got a new clutch so my brother and I decided to go out for a drive again.
It was a busy day, didn't get home till 11 PM and I left the house around 7:30 AM.
I just had an awesome photo shoot with Hailey yesterday and I cannot wait to see all the photos. Dropped off 12 rolls to Nelson Photo and I still have one more shoot to do, a reunion shoot. Someone I shot two years ago, resurfaced in my life again and we’re going to shoot for the first time in 2 years.
