I wish I can show you more of the photos but since Ale paid for the images it’s hers and shes not ready to release them yet. But she did let me post this one. Shot on film, Nikon F5 at my studio and backyard.
I had such a wonderful weekend! Thought I’d have Sunday off to chill, clean the mess that was left from the Party Saturday night. But I woke up early to go to swap meet with Erika and Erica. Yes, that’s two Erica’s lol. I did get to clean up a bit before I met up with Neeah for a photo shoot, these images were shot with an iPhone. The film will be developed later this week.
Food Porn is less than a few weeks out and I’m getting super excited about it. I don’t have enough men in the show and I’m fortunate to have some male friends (and strangers) who are willing to volunteer to help. Unfortunately I can’t shoot them all, so I had to shoot two very close friends of mine who really wanted to be in the show too. I shot Still of Rottweiler Clothing and a member of Suav City, and also shot Gian aka Big Gee (I don’t have a teaser of Gee to show ya’ll).
Shot some Click Click photos of Stillo inside of Holy Matcha in North Park. Huge shout out to Holy Matcha by the way, they were very helpful with the food I used to shoot with. Thank you!
Yoooo!!! I’m so excited with how the house is coming along. It’s been a dream of mine to have a space to myself and to look this nice! I’m so geeked out right now! Huge shout out to everyone that has been helping me and to the resellers for giving me such a great deal on these things, much love! The house is almost ready for a house warming party!!
Music producer all the way from Pasadena in town to work on some music with Rossi Rock. Fly and His crew supports SD hard. Made some dope beats for Rossi, meanwhile Stillo making house calls with Rottweiler Clothing as each of Fly’s crew copped something. On top of that Fly hired me to shoot some photos of him before heading back home. These photos look so much cooler with a little bit of edit. The only edit I did on these are the graphics on them.
Fly When It Comes TO This
I was chillin at Arts-Rec during Rossi’s sound check and Chata came through. She had a point and shoot camera in her hand and I grabbed it from her and snapped this photo.
Just a little preview from the Color Show photo shoots with Alejandra. I will have the rest of the collection in a new online gallery the day after The Color Show Oct 27th. It’s at 9Five North Park, come through!
I remember growing up I’ve always wanted to be on the news or magazines and radio station for for the things we do. Either photography, community service, music, art, etc. It was always a dream growing up and I’m sure most of ya’ll can relate. I accomplished some of those dreams, and I’m proud to share these images of Rossi Rock at the radio station for an interview! People always talk about how local station in SD don’t support local artist. Maybe they do, it just takes alot of hard work to be recognized. Beto Perez and Tha Kid Reckless was kind enough to take the Suav crew in the station and kicked down some valuable knowledge. Rossi has been making alot of noise on social media thanks to all his fans. Beside that Rossi and Beto Perez knew each other, the support from Rossi’s fan got the station’s attention.
I’m excited about these photos. I did a photo shoot with Marissa last Sunday and took a few Click Click photos of her before we began. The shoot was for Monzu Fresh Pasta and I’m extremely happy with the results, and that’s a rare occasion. I’ll post the Monzu Fresh Pasta of Marissa later on the Monzu Gallery for ya’ll to see but for now I’m still in the process of staring at the photos for 2-3 days to decide on which one to print out for them.
These photos were taken with my new Canon AE-1 with the new 50mm lens I got. I just love the depth of field on the 50mm lens, and the color is on point! Shot inside Copa Vida and outside of Monzu Fresh Pasta.
We were out in Balboa Park doing a shoot for Monzu Fresh Pasta and Marissa helped out with styling and lighting. Turned around and saw a good opportunity snapped a couple of photos of her.
I scheduled a photo shoot with Christianna aka C.C at Lucha Libre yesterday, and since it was my first time at the North Park location I decided to a food post about it. Rolling my eyes as I'm typing this, I deleted the photos of the food because I thought I transferred it into my VSCO app already, ugh! Well, in case ya'll wanna know, I ordered the Surf'n California burrito. It has Steak, Shrimp, Avocado slices, secret Chipotle sauce and shit, oh and fries! It was really good! C.C ordered a burrito with pineapples in it. I hate pineapples in my burrito so I wont even mention that name (It has pork by the way).
The light was really low inside Lucha Libre so I had to stay very still for each shot. I really hope they come out good. We hung out for a bit and drank a couple of beers. Some how Ice Cream got brought up and we decided to go to Bing Haus for Ice Cream and shot some more.
Every Tuesday Rhandy, Dook, and I go for run in La Jolla and we would chill at a restaurant or a bar afterward. We typically go to Jose's for tacos and a Michelada but there's a new burger joint on Prospect so we decided to check them out. It's a cool little joint that offers a wide variety of protein and you can choose which style of burgers you want, such as American Style, Cowboy style etc etc. I personally like the American style, classic cheese burger. The Cowboy style is the one with BBQ sauce and onion rings. Their onion rings are good, their fries are cut in circles that look like fried bananas, they have chicken wings that taste like Korean wings, and their burgers are good! Smaller than average and a little bigger than a slider, perfect size for me.
I'm always working on my craft, shooting as much as possible learning how to capture different angles and lighting. When I look back at my photos it seems I just keep sticking to the same style, I know I'll find new ways to capture people. Maybe start with a medium format camera or play with light leaks and fuck with the exposures for different effects.
Erika is a great subject, so we shot for the 4th time last week in City Heights right behind a taco shop, in the heart of the ghetto. The employees were cool with us shooting back there and on their car. I love the wall Erika selected. She saw a colored wall and automatically thought of me and sent me a photo of it, so that's how I found this wall. I'm on that 16/8 intermittent fasting so it was reaching my dinner time so we went to Sipz for some Vegan dinner then we walked around North Park for a little to get more shots. We turned a corner and noticed the sunset, and ya'll know I love shooting in front of sunsets! You'll see in the photos below, enjoy!
We spent the weekend in Temecula for my God Daughter's Baptism and 1st birthday party. We as in my brother and I. I had two photo shoots booked while I was up there and Dook came along for the mountain bike trails. Well he was also invited to the birthday party too and he stayed at the hotel with me because he wanted to ride the trails Saturday and Sunday morning. After everything was all done, we checked out of the hotel around 11 AM and I spent the rest of the day with Erica. We had lunch, shot some pictures for Food Porn Vol 3, walked around in Old Town Temecula and spent money on expensive spicy beef jerfy I'll never get to enjoy hahaha.
I'm up in Temecula/Murrieta area this weekend for my God Daughter's Baptism and 1st birthday party and also squeezed in a photo shoot while I'm in town. Today (Saturday) I shot with the wonderful, Marissa from Riverside. We shot with Chinese food from across the street from my hotel. Oh yeah, I booked a room to stay up here for the weekend so I can do these shoots. They didn't give us utensils so she had to use her hand. It all worked out. Thank you Marissa!
I had the pleasure to work the beautiful Hailey. Hailey have been living in San Diego for only two years, ran into her at a bar on Convoy when she was a guest bartender. A friend of mine told me she won a Bartending contest, I forgot what it was called. I wanted to shoot with Hailey when I first met her but it's always weird to ask a stranger to shoot some photos so I never do. Luckily for me we have a bunch of mutual friends and one of them (Jesse from Sycamore Den) suggested I shoot with Hailey and lucky for me Hailey was familiar with my work. She seen some photos I took of Arlene for Food Porn Vol 2, it made things easier. I guess you can say I like it way better when my work speaks for me, so I don't have to be that creepy photographer asking random girls to model lol. You know what they say, "keep hustling till you don't have to introduce yourself anymore." Jk that's not a saying, is it? Who knows.
Anyways, these are my favorites from our shoot. I wish I can show you the Food Porn pics we shot together but that will have to wait for the show. Enjoy!
Took Monday off from my day job for a Food Porn Vol 3 photo shoot. I had four shoots lined up but two was postponed so that lighten the load a bit. Fun and easy shoot with Hailey with a vegan burger from Plant Power. We ordered The Big Zac to eat at Plant Power, it was a vegan version of a Big Mac.I Ordered another to-go to shoot with. It was really good! I'd definitely do it again over Big Mac assuming it's much healthier than McDonald's. We shot in Golden Hill on the hood of my homie Mikey's 70's Mercedes Benz, going for the classy look with the sun dress.
I had a really awesome day of shooting yesterday with Tiffany and then a reshoot with Erika to make it much sexier. It felt like a successful day. Hung out with the gang at 5&A Dime for Slush Cult pop up shop and there was a ton of Comic Con goers in downtown. Always fun to see. Till I got home around mid night I made the dumbest mistake of opening my camera without rewinding my film. I was highly distracted and forgot to roll it back. I'm getting a lot of hope from my photographer friends who said to develop them anyways to see if anything can still be saved. I did open it in a dimmed area, soooo if anything there would be some cool light leak.
