I should've checked the Yelp reviews before I made reservation for The Lot. I almost never go on Yelp before I eat anywhere, because sometimes people don't know what they're talking about. And There was a 3 star restaurant that offered one of the greatest Mediterranean food in San Diego. They had 3 stars for how "ghetto" the place look, I understand, but sometimes ghetto places got some of the best food. I wanted to do something fancy for date night with Lupita. She's not really into fancy shit but I am. You can catch me pretty much anywhere, Waffle Burger at the "Four Corners Of Death" or over paying for food that won't fill me up at Cowboy Star (shit if its good prices don't matter). The Lot has been on my list to go to for a date, I assumed (never assume) that the food would be great with all the fancy interior, wine, fancy looking people, and a really nice bar. The drink option was okay, for the record I didn't check the Wine selection since that's not my thing, but the Whiskey selection was okay, they did have Macallan (even their good shit) and the cocktails were okay, beer selection was decent. Reading the food off the menu sounded great! The price of the entrees were about $24-$30, no big deal, if it's good it's worth it. But nope, just another high priced food just like the other theatre that charge an arm and a leg for popcorn, nachos, and sodas. But see, I fucks with all that though, but The Lot is in a different ball game and they didn't bring their bats to the game. Fancy restaurant for people who want to be fancy but don't know better. Trying too hard.
But!! Their theatre was amazing !! I'd definitely go back for that. Luxurious seats, a table, a button for service, reclinable seats and they don't squeak like other theatres, great popcorn selections, service was pretty good too. I read on yelp some had a bad experience but maybe they were understaffed that day. You can order snacks from your seat by the way. Their sound system was great, room temperature was hot, I was beginning to sweat. But don't mind me, I think that's just me because I run mad hot. They double booked our seats too! Two ladies walked up to me claiming I'm in their seats. After pulling out tickets out we realized the seats got double booked. The ladies were nice enough to move to another seat after speaking to the managers, and also they got free tickets out of it. Oh! If you think $17 for movie tickets is too high? Well you're right, movie tickets today are expensive. But AMC Mission Valley tickets are $15 bucks for shitty seats and service so you decided. Unless you go all the way down to AMC Palm Ave where it's $6 all day everyday.
I NEED TO TRY CINEPOLIS NOW.
